No, not that Radioactive Man.

According to Chinesefilms.cn, actor Wang Xueqi (Warriors of Heaven and Earth) will join the Iron Man 3 cast as a character named Chen Lu which, if you’re up on your Marvel Comics villains, is the true name of The Radioactive Man, a Chinese scientist who was exposed to a massive dose of radiation (that was a big thing at Marvel back in the 60′s, apparently) and can emit and manipulate it at will. It also turned his skin a lovely shade of iridescent green, as you can see here:

Since Ben Kinglsey is playing the Mandarin, and a portion of the film is set in China, I’m sure Chen Lu will simply be a scientist assisting with The Mandarin’s nefarious plans to destroy Tony Stark and probably won’t take on this glowy green form. This character joins an already jam-packed cast of semi-obscure Marvel villains such as Firepower, Coldblood, and Dr. Aldrich Killian, who invents the “Extremis” technology that will feature heavily in the sequel. Iron Man 3 also stars Gweneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Jon Favreau, and Rebecca Hall. Look for it in theaters on May 3, 2013.

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.

Maybe they’ll get Bolo Cheung to put on green body paint for the transformation scene.
