NEW ‘LONE RANGER’ POSTER IS, UMMMM…

Ok soooo, the poster for this brand new Lone Ranger movie, a film that is supposed to bring the iconic American character back into the cultural vernacular, features…Tonto? And not even a Tonto that anyone would recognize? I mean, a Lone Ranger poster is next to impossible to screw up - Step one: gorgeous western sunset. Step two: The Lone Ranger holding his hat out while Silver rears up on his back legs. Done.
This poster doesn’t say “Lone Ranger” to me. It says, “Seventh direct-to-DVD Crow sequel.” I love the tagline, and the imagery certainly is striking, but can this be viewed as anything other than a complete misfire? Simply baffling.

Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies.
