‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER’ STILL LOOKING FOR FEMALE LEAD
If you stop to think about it, Chris Evans’ Captain America is 80 years old and still looking for his first date. That’s a long time to wait to make small talk over an overpriced dinner and hope you get to second base on the couch afterwards. According to a report by Deadline, it looks as if Cap’s dry spell is about to come to an end, as five potential bachelorettes are battling it out to land the female lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Three of these contenders are actresses that don’t inspire much excitement (or even recognition), unless you’re a huge fan of British high-soceity melodrama: Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Imogen Poots (Knight of Cups), and Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey). All of these women are impossibly gorgeous, but it’s the last two names that are really going to get the geek blood pumping: Alison Brie (Annie from Community and Mrs. Pete Campbell from Mad Men), and Emilia Clarke, better known as Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons herself!
Now, no offense to The Khaleesi, but Oh sweet lord baby Jesus I would take a bath in battery acid to see Alison Brie in this movie. I have an unnatural obsession with our little Annie from Community (the far superior geek show to The Big Bang Theory, but that’s for another article) — in addition to being pants explodingly hot, she’s funny, spunky, talented, and - as she’s demonstrated several times on Community (the paintball and jell-o wrestling eps) - she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to rough and tumble action scenes. Plus, THIS:
The report also claims Scarlet Johansson will return as The Black Widow in the film, and that location shooting will begin in Cleveland soon. Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be in theaters on April 4, 2014.
