You’ve got to hand it to George, the guy keeps on coming up with ways to squeeze blood from a stone, beat a dead horse, or whatever other euphamism for prolonging the cash-generating properties of a genre franchise you want to use. Uncle Lucas’ latest attempt to draw milk from the withered teat of his creation – as you can see by that animated .gif above – is a version of the mega-popular Angry Birds video game/app, with a Star Wars theme.
Am I alone in thinking that this isn’t the worst Star Wars hybrid concept? Those Star Wars Mr. Potato Heads were pretty forced, if you ask me. And don’t even get me started on those atrocious Star Wars/Transformers mash-ups. I actually think this could be fairly cool. Angry birds with lightsabers and Force powers flinging themselves into Death Stars or Star Destroyers? I’m not afraid to admit that I loves me some Angry Birds, and the game seemed to make the transition to a space theme fairly well, so I don’t see why this can’t be fun.
