I don’t usually like to  toot my own horn, but in this case - beep beep! About a month ago, I wrote a feature detailing my top five candidates to play Batman in the Justice League film. My top choice was Armie Hammer, the young, lantern-jawed star of The Social Network, Mirror Mirror, and the upcoming Lone Ranger film by Gore Verbinski.

Even though Hammer was already cast as Batman once before – in Mad Max director George Miller’s shelved Justice League Mortal film - many of you called me crazy for the pick, others made fun of Armie’s name, and some of you even said mean things about my Mother.  But, it appears that my judgment may be vindicated, as this report from Moviehole suggests:

Hearing from a very good source today that Hammer, who is now a hot commodity after such flicks as “The Social Network” and “Mirror Mirror”, not to mention his upcoming lead role in “The Lone Ranger”, is ”back on WB’s radar” for the part of Batman. Not for a solo flick, but for the ensemble “Justice League” movie [again].

Ha! See! You mocked and ridiculed me for selecting Hammer — you persecuted me for my belief that he should don the cape and cowl of the Dark Knight, but now “a very good source” has backed up my pick! I bet you feel pretty foolish now, don’t you?

Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
