Here’s a nifty little treat for you Bond fans: seven whole minutes of the Skyfall score by new composer Thomas Newman. The track names are kind of spoiler-y, so you may want to close the browser while you listen, or just hit play and scroll down a bit until the video window is hidden. It’s like a fun game you can play with yourself — try not to look at the track titles! (Hey, give me a break, it’s a slow news day, all right?).

So what do you think of the tunes? I rarely listen to movie soundtracks on their own, unless it’s John Williams’ Superman score on those special days when I tie a towel around my neck and jump off the roof of my garage. I just prefer thematic film music when it’s in context. I’m crazy like that.

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
