Some months ago, I wrote a story about Universal’s plans to move forward on Jurassic Park IV, but a few years back, John Sayles wrote a Jurassic Park IV script that made it as far as the concept art stage. That concept art hit the Interwebs today, and it’s the stuff of nightmares. Sayles screenplay apparently involved grotesque human-dinosaur hybrids that were gentetically engineered to be unstoppable, highly-intelligent mercenaries.

It’s an absolutely insane concept that – fortunately for all of us who value sleeping through the night – terrified the Universal execs, and they quickly put a bullet through the head of these Godless abominations. Here’s a look at the art by artist Carlos Huante. If you value your sanity, you should skip checking these out and go look at some LOLCats instead. *shiver*

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
