Finally, A New SNOWPIERCER Trailer

Aside from a teaser trailer last summer, we haven’t talked about The Host director Bong Joon-Ho’s heady sci-fi meets class warfare flick  Snowpiercer since January of 2013. Over the course of the last year, Joon-Ho had to endure an attempt by the Weinsteins to take final cut away from him and force a neutered, hacked version of the movie into a wide U.S. release. Thankfully, Joon-Ho won that battle, retaining his edit, but at the cost of a lower-profile, limited release here in the States.

Some critics have already seen Snowpiercer and are heralding it as a socially conscious, action-fueled masterpiece, with an incredible performance from Chris Evans. This new trailer for the battle of haves vs. the have-nots aboard a futuristic train fueled by a “sacred perpetual-motion engine” smashing through glaciers in a new ice age certainly reinforces that critical reaction. I’m looking forward to checking it out myself when it opens in my area, which will hopefully be in the coming months. Keep an eye out for this one, kids.
