LEAGUECAST – Episode #67: Russos On AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR & Other News

It’s was a HUGE news cycle for the week of March 19-25, and the Geek League gang tries to tackle it all in this jam-packed episode of the LeagueCast! The show kicks off with Jeff, Shawn, Aaron, and Adam expressing their relief and jubilation over the news that the Russo Brothers are officially on board to direct Avengers: Infinity War, Parts I & II. Sticking with Marvel, the crew speculate on who got the coveted role of Captain Marvel for her cameo in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Following that, the League then discusses other hot topics like the first released still of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and his role in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice; 16-year-old Mateus Ward auditioning for Spider-Man; Tyrese Gibson posting a photo of himself in a Green Lantern costume on his Instagram account with the caption “See You Soon!”; Steven Spielberg directing the film adaptation of Ready Player One; Lana Condor joining X-Men: Apocalypse as Jubilee, Idris Elba possibly playing the villain in Star Trek 3; Sony landing the rights to produce a Robotech live action film; Fox botching the reveal of The Thing in the Fantastic Four reboot; and the show wraps up with some discussion of The Flash and other currently airing genre shows. Along the way, everyone makes fun of the fact that 40-year-olds played teens in Grease, Adam gets his mind blown when he finds out the Fast & Furious franchise has a non-linear timeline, Jeff does some Bane impressions, and tons more kooky hijinks!

Jeff Carter

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
