On this week’s edition of the LeagueCast podcast, regular hosts Jeff and Shawn are joined by guest hosts Jared Skolnick and Marc Lapierre for a big superhero casting show! First up, the gang talks about the casting of 19-year-old Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming solo Spidey film in summer 2017, as well as Jon Watts being named the director and who they’d like to see for villains in the film.

Next, the League transitions into a discussion of Ben Affleck possibly getting behind the camera to direct a new solo Batman movie titled The Batman for November 2018, and Marc rattles off some great fan-castings for potential rogues for Batman to battle. The show wraps up with a conversation about the rumors surrounding Chris Pine possibly playing Hal Jordan in the 2020 Green Lantern reboot, and the concept of the movie focusing on all three Earth-based Lanterns – Hal, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner.

all this, plus Shawn tells us about his experience seeing Rush in concert, some talk about nerdy bands, a remembrance of James Horner and Patrick Mcnee, and the usual host recommendations and plugs!

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
