Our COUNTDOWN TO THE FORCE AWAKENS is nearing an end, and this week The LeagueCast crew takes a look at what many consider to be the greatest Star Wars movie ever made — Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Jeff, Shawn, and Adam discuss George Lucas’ huge gamble to risk his Star Wars fortune on financing Empire himself to keep creative control away from the studio, his decision to bring in Irvin Kirshner to direct, the overall darker tone of the film, the Han-Leia romance, the introduction of Yoda into the pantheon of great Star Wars characters, the brilliant John Williams’ score, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, Boba Fett’s badassery, and of course, what could possibly be the single most memorable line of dialogue in cinema history!
As always, you can listen to the LeagueCast right here in your browser, download the MP3 file, or check out the show and subscribe to the podcast in the iTunes store or on Stitcher Smart Radio.
