Happy Holidays from the Geek League! On this Christmas edition of the LeagueCast, Jeff, Shawn, and Adam tear into the best gift they could have possibly asked for – Star Wars: The Force Awakens! The guys finally share their thoughts about the first chapter of Disney’s continuation of the Star Wars saga beyond Return Of The Jedi. It’s an in-depth discussion about the plot similarities to A New Hope; the great challenge JJ Abrams faced in appealing to several generations of Star Wars fans; all the exciting new characters like Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, Maz Kanata, and others; how the old timers like Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill acquitted themselves returning to their old roles; the emotional impact of the big death that occurs in the film; and all of the mysteries brought up that will hopefully be answered in Episode VIII! All that, plus a Christmas message to all the listeners and some holiday viewing recommendations!

As always, you can listen to the LeagueCast right here in your browser, download the MP3 file, or check out the show and subscribe to the podcast in the iTunes store or on Stitcher Smart Radio. About Author

Jeff Carter

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
