LEAGUECAST #137 – SDCC 2016 Recap – JUSTICE LEAGUE, WONDER WOMAN, DR. STRANGE, LUKE CAGE, STAR TREK, & More

0

It’s a very special LeagueCast this week as the gang welcomes San Diego Comic-Con 2016 attendee and professional guest, Lucas Turnbloom, to discuss his experiences at the world’s most popular pop culture/media/comic book convention. Lucas is the co-creator (along with Star Wars and Heroes star Greg Grunberg) and artist of the new Scholastic graphic novel Dream Jumper. Lucas regales host Jeff and co-hosts Adam and Marc with tales about his experiences promoting the graphic novel at a panel, seeing some emotional reactions from fans at a signing on the floor, getting to sit in the press box in Hall H for the Star Trek 50th anniversary panel, and being invited to the world premiere of Star Trek Beyond and the exclusive after party attended by JJ Abrams and the entire cast!

In between, the guys manage to find some time to discuss and analyze the trailers for Justice League, Wonder Woman, Dr. Strange, and the Luke Cage Netflix series, but mostly they talk about how crazy and hot the Con was this year, how dreamy Chris Pine’s crystal blue eyes are, what Zoe Saldana looks like in an evening gown, and how awesome JJ Abrams is. All that, plus the League mourns the losses of comic greats Jack Davis and Richard Thompson, the usual weekly recommendations, and hilarious banter in the mighty League manner! Don’t forget to check out the new season of Marc’s webcomicThe Superfogeys on August 1st, and buy a copy of Lucas’s graphic novel Dream Jumper through our Amazon link!

Jeff Carter

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
