LEAGUECAST #161 – The Impact Of Carrie Fisher’s Death On STAR WARS IX, Plus AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Castings, CW Series Renewals, & More

This week on the LeagueCast, Jeff, Shawn, and Adam discuss the impact Carrie Fisher’s death will have on the future of the Star Wars saga, and share their opinions on what should be done in Episode IX in terms of creating a CGI Leia, killing her off screen in between films, re-casting the role, and other options. Then the League celebrates the renewals of the entire CW Network superhero lineup, poking fun at the longevity of Supernatural and going off on some funny TV-related tangents. The show wraps up with some Avengers: Infinity War chatter, as the guys talk about Tom Holland, Zoe Saldana, and a returning Liv Tyler joining the cast and fanboy out over all the possible interactions among all of their favorite MCU superheroes. All this, plus the usual weekly nerd media recommendations, crazy hijinks, and banter in the mighty League manner!

Jeff is the defining voice of his generation. Sadly, that generation exists only in an alternate dimension where George Lucas became supreme overlord of the Earth in 1979 and replaced every television broadcast and theatrical film on the planet with Star Wars and Godzilla movies. In this dimension, he’s just a guy from New England who likes writing snarky things about superheroes, monsters, and robots.
